Over the years, studies have shown that Austin is one of “America’s booziest cities.” Oddly enough, this is good news for local pet owners, as they get a wide variety of pubs, bars, and breweries to choose from. Speaking of the latter, here are the top 9 dog-friendly breweries in Austin your pup will enjoy.

The beer garden at Beerburg Brewing is not large by chance, as the owners wanted it to be a pet-friendly environment. Moreover, they have built a fenced-off dog park that visitors and their dogs are welcome to use. However, this means that dogs aren’t allowed inside the taproom itself.
Speaking of the taproom, here you can try Beerburg’s year-round beers, including IPA, pale ale, red ale, stout beer, pilsner, burg ale, etc. When it comes to seasonals, folks enjoy their summer Peach Wit, winter Chocolate Russian Imperial Stout, and spring Roggenbier.

Another brewery on Fitzhugh Road, Jester King Brewery is a haven for craft beer connoisseurs. The brewery’s setting is ideal for dogs: a 165-acre ranch in Hill Country. In this sense, Jester King is much more than a brewery; it is a farm, an event venue, and a kitchen.
The management of the brewery takes pride in the fact they are family-friendly, so you should keep your dog on a leash all the time. This is to protect your pet, as well as children and livestock. Oh, be sure to bring a portable water bowl for your new pup; they haven’t got any.

Open since 2011, Austin Beerworks is a vibrant brewery with a taproom and a store that wants its guests to truly have a great time. They offer tours with complimentary tasting and a wide array of beers to drink or take home.
For example, Amber Vision is one of their core beers, although they have seasonals, such as a black lager called Black Thunder. Feel free to try one of Beerworks’ exclusives: Sakuma sour ale. As of recently, dogs are allowed on the turfed patio on United Dr.

Oddwood Ales is a place for afternoon and evening beer sipping, as they open at 3 PM. Situated in East Austin, this lovely rustic brewery takes pride in the fact their restaurant is family-friendly and that their patio is dog-friendly.
The takeout menu differs from the dine-in menu, where you can find such delicacies as minestrone soup, Italian strombo, and various pizzas, from pepperoni to cauliflower pizza. The beer selection is also impressive: from ales, across sours, to lagers. Mind you, draft beer is also available in pitchers.

When Austinites want to sample a new beer brew, they head to Zilker Brewing. Another East Austin establishment, Zilker is a modern and urban brewery and taproom that offers mainstays and seasonals. Coffee Milk Stout and Berry Fun are just some of the exotics beers you can order here.
The outdoor seating area in front of the taproom welcomes pets, so you can bring your four-legged friend to the beer-tasting session. Just keep in mind that Zilker Brewery is closed on Mondays (unlike the local vets who are available for home visits from Monday through Sunday).

The large, industrial space owned by the Black Star Co-op features a pet-friendly patio alongside the brewery and a pub. They are open every day of the week and if you kindly ask the staff, they will validate your parking for up to 5 hours!
Black Star Co-op offers three types of beers: House Beers, Rational Beers, and Irrational Beers. These incorporate 55 recipes for various types of beers, from flavorful year-round mainstays to rotating one-off beers made in small batches.

Apart from the brewery edifice, the Brewtorium in Skyview offers a sizable dog-friendly patio as part of their beer garden. No pets except service animals are allowed inside the taproom, by the orders of the local health department.
The patio is shaded but it lacks airflow, so it’s better to bring your pooch here in winter (no reservation is required). German-styled pizza is supplemented with traditional pub grab, which is a great dinner option (they’re open until 11 PM on the weekends).

The best word to describe Lazarus Brewing’s taproom is “charming.” The exterior section of the taproom, where dogs are allowed, is covered and air-conditioned, so you can visit any time of the year. The only drawback is that you have to go to the bar and order your drink, while Fido remains tied up.
Speaking of the menu, patrons can order everything from coffee, across beer (logically) to tacos. They feature every beer flavor imaginable, such as an OktoberFest-themed German Pilsner 4.8% or a more potent Oatmeal Stout, 6.7%.

The final brewery on our list is unique in more than one way. Firstly, the brewery was opened in 1992 and secondly, both its patio and the taproom are dog and kid friendly (dogs should be kept on a leash, though). Patrons have 20 taps and several food trucks at their disposal in the beer garden.
Celis is famous across the great state of Texas for its Belgian-style ales. Some of the most popular draft beers are Celis White – Witbier 4.9%, Celis Coffee Porter 7%, and Celis Grand Cru – Belgian Tripel 8.6%. The to-go menu offers six-packs of draft beers.
Texas sanitary regulations don’t allow pets to enter brewery taprooms but that doesn’t mean you cannot enjoy a cold craft beer with Fido. Owners of the top 9 dog-friendly breweries in Austin have done their best to make every beer lover’s pup feel as welcome as their owners are.
Yes, pet owners can freely bring their dogs onto the turfed outdoor patio.
Yes, the outdoor patio on the corner of Chalmers Ave. and East 6th St. welcomes owners with dogs.
