Nowadays, it’s harder to find a restaurant or a shop in Dallas that is not pet-friendly. Restaurateurs in particular have realized that dog owners are an excellent and large target group. We have singled out the top 9 dog-friendly restaurants in Dallas your dog will bark to go back to again.
Lazy Dog

Although the Lazy Dog Restaurant and Bar is a restaurant chain from California, they have a strong presence in the great state of Texas. The Dallas County location is situated in Addison, north of the city center.
The Lazy Dog is a popular dinner and lunch (they also serve brunch on the weekends) venue among dog owners because they offer a dog menu. Savory bowls of chicken or beef with veggies/brown rice on the side are always on the menu!
Chelsea Corner
4830 McKinney Ave.

Most Dallasites know that Chelsea Corner in the Knox Neighborhood is the go-to place for watching sports (they have 21 large HD screens) while enjoying a wholesome burger over a cold beer. However, Chelsea Corner also boasts a 2,500 square foot pup-friendly back patio where your four-legged friend can run free.
The green backyard has couches and picnic tables with room for 90 guests and their dogs. Here you can sip Cabernet Sauvignon, try the Yuengling Lager, and order a plate of Shrimp Capellini Pomodoro. You can order anything from the menu for pickup, as well.
The Ranch at Las Colinas
57 W John Carpenter Fwy, Irving

A lively bar scene and live music are trademarks of The Ranch at Las Colinas located in Irving, just off DFW International Airport, northwest of downtown Dallas. This farm-to-fork restaurant has organized rescue charity events before, so they take great care of their four-legged guests.
Not only is the sizable patio area dog-friendly but this countryside restaurant also offers a pup menu. The menu consists of four main dishes and two treats. As far as the owners are concerned, you should know that the happy hour is from 2 PM to 6 PM, Monday through Friday.
3127 Routh St.

Not a restaurant in the true sense of the word, Katy Trail Ice House features one of the most iconic dog patios in the whole of Dallas. Their open seating communal beer garden is the perfect place for your dog to caper around with fellow mutts.
The patio is so popular that dog owners visit it even in winter. In summer, though, dogs are safe from the scorching sun under tree canopies and water bowls are provided for them as well. After a wholesome BBQ meal, you can take your dog for a walk down the Katy Trail (remember to keep the dog on a short leash).
5800 Windhaven Pkwy, The Colony

The Colony might be a long drive from downtown Dallas but when you take into account that mobile veterinary services are available all the way to Prosper, it doesn’t seem that far. Austin Ranch is a place worth visiting, as the dog park up there is like no other in the city.
Surrounded by six restaurants, sits a one-acre dog park that is open until ten in the evening. The park is completely off-leash and it has separate areas for large and small breeds. As far as the eateries are concerned, you can have everything from a “turbo” cup of coffee to shrimp baskets.
2213 Butler St.

Open every day from 11 AM to 2 PM, Redfield’s Tavern boasts a large, dog-friendly patio covered in grass, so your pup can roam free. Since it opened its doors in 2019, the tavern has been one of the most popular restaurants in the upcoming Medical District of Dallas.
The food menu consists of burgers and sandwiches, as well as daily specials and Happy Hour offers. The beer menu features ales, draft beer, and ciders you can sip while watching a game or listening to a concert. Sunday is the time for rock ‘n’ roll sessions at the Redfield’s.
2400 Allen St.

Not only are dogs always welcome at State & Allen’s but they were actually the first hospitality business in Dallas to open their patio for pets (at that time, this move was illegal). Nowadays, they offer complimentary dog treats that are made in-house. If your dog gets hiccups after a meal, you can bring a slow-feeder bowl to the bar.
The “human” menu doesn’t lag far behind the doggo one, as you can order everything from exciting soups & starters (try the crispy calamari) to delicious pizzas (the red sauce is made exclusively using Texas tomatoes). State & Allen is also famous around town for its wine selection.
3675 Ross Avenue

As its name suggests, Toller Patio is an outdoor venue located in Old East Dallas. Their sizable patio is decked with 18 big-screen TVs and shaded by 14-foot palm trees: the perfect place for Fido to spend the long summer days.
The Toller Patio offers cold tap beer, “handcrafted” on-tap cocktails, as well as decent wines. When it comes to the grub, everything on the menu is fresh, from sandwiches (e.g. Pulled Pork BBQ) across salads (e.g. Texas Caesar Salad), to the house special: eight types of chicken wings.
2889 Cityplace W. Blvd.

At its Dallas location, Mutts Canine Cantina blends a dog park with food & drinks (be sure to try the 100% all-natural beef burgers) and an event venue. The beer garden doubles as a sizable off-leash dog park that is Dallasites’ favorite. However, there are certain rules inside the park.
To be granted access, dogs must be sprayed, i.e. neutered, they need to be flea and tick free, and mustn’t be overly aggressive towards humans and other dogs. You can bring your four-legged friend to the patio but it has to be on a leash at all times.
We have listed the top 9 dog-friendly restaurants in Dallas right now but as the city grows and develops, so will the list expand. The trend among hospitality entrepreneurs is to make their businesses dog-friendly, so they are set out to build a loyal canine customer base.
